Council Member Julie Won will hold a rally Tuesday evening calling on Con Edison to honor a 2024 commitment to help fund a continuous waterfront from Queensbridge Park to Gantry Plaza State Park as part of the OneLIC Neighborhood Plan.
Won released a statement Monday afternoon accusing Con Edison of “walking away” from its previous commitment to help fund the continuous waterfront and “blocking” the creation of a publicly connected waterfront.
Con Edison has pushed back strongly against the allegations, stating that it remains fully committed to creating the waterfront esplanade.
