New 326-Unit Affordable and Supportive Housing Development Completed in Morris Heights

On October 24, 2025, New York State Homes and Community Renewal announced the completion of Starhill Phase I. This affordable and supportive housing development is located in the Morris Heights neighborhood of the Bronx. The $189 million project provides 326 new affordable apartments. Of these, 200 units are designated for adults experiencing homelessness. The project is part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s $25 billion, five-year housing plan to create or preserve 100,000 affordable homes in New York State.

Governor Hochul stated that the Starhill project provides affordable housing and supportive services for New Yorkers in need. She noted the development’s location near public transportation and its range of amenities. According to Hochul, these features help residents access stable housing. The project is part of the state’s efforts to address the housing shortage and increase access to affordable homes.
