Jury selection completed for man accused in 2022 fatal shooting in north Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — According to the 47th District Attorney, Jason Herring, jury selection was completed and trial is underway for a man who was accused in a 2022 shooting that led to the death of one person and the injury of two others in north Amarillo.

According to court documents filed in Potter County, Bol Marko Deng was indicted in August on one count of “Capital Murder by Terror Threat or Other Felony.”

As was previously reported by Myhighplains.com, in January 2023, Deng was indicted on three other charges including “murder.” Deng was accused of shooting Lawrence Hart in October 2022.

Deng was charged with one count of “Murder,” for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Hart and two counts of “Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon,” related to the incident, which injured two others…
