Visiting Nurse Association fills critical gap as Omaha metro schools lack full-time nurses

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – When children get hurt on the playground or suffer asthma attacks at school, teachers often become the first responders in buildings without full-time nurses.

Less than 40% of the nation’s public schools employ a full-time registered nurse. The Visiting Nurse Association is working to fill that gap.
