Federal workers turn to food pantries as government shutdown drags on

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – As October wraps up and paychecks remain on hold, many federal workers are turning to food pantries to feed their families.

“Both my wife and I are federal workers, so we have zero income coming into the house,” said Terrence Long.

Long said they’ve been stretching what they have just to get through the month and is encouraging others in the same position to reach out for help…
