Five arrested after Schenectady police uncover drugs and firearms

Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — Schenectady Police say 5 people were arrested following a search warrant on Swan Street Thursday, October 23, 2025. Members of the Schenectady Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and Special Operations Squad executed the search.

During the operation, officers recovered two handguns and a large quantity of crack cocaine, leading to the arrests of these five individuals:

  • 38-year-old Thomas Smith of Schenectady, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (C felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree (D felony)
