Thomas Foods requesting permit for $6 million conversion of Tyson plant

The city is reviewing a permit application created Oct. 24 for Thomas Foods International USA to convert the former Tyson Foods Inc. plant in Northwest Jacksonville at an estimated project cost of almost $6.1 million for its use as a meat-processing facility.

The Haskell Co. of Jacksonville is the contractor for the project at 5441 W. Fifth St.
