CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is warning residents about a new scam targeting residents.
CCSO said scammers are posing as Sheriff’s deputies or investigators, telling victims that they have an outstanding warrant for their arrest and requesting cash to “clear” the warrant.
Scammers are sending false documents to appear convincing and giving real names and titles of CCSO employees. Officials say a recent incident used the name “Tammy Mosley,” which was mispelled and paired with an incorrect title…
