BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — The former Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy who was seen on a viral video pointing his gun at teenagers, and a neighbor involved in the incident have been released on bond.
William P. “Billy” Squires, 41, was booked at approximately 7:48 a.m. on Tuesday by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), facing four counts of pointing and presenting firearms at a person and one count of breach of peace aggravated in nature, according to officials.
However, after a bond hearing, Squires was released on bond at approximately 12:39 p.m., less than five hours after his arrest.
Squires was terminated on Oct. 3 after teenagers recorded an altercation with the former deputy at the Squiregate Community in Hilton Head, where he pointed his gun at them while attempting to detain them…
