SAM bus shelters to be replaced

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A plan for a bus shelter near the Sioux Falls One Stop building on the East Side of Sioux Falls will be presented to the Public Transportation Advisory Board Monday.

The city intends to replace all of the estimated 50 bus shelters throughout the city. The city applied for a $2 million federal grant to help with the project, according to transit coordinator Bren Schweitzer.

The total cost of the project is unknown, but regardless if the city receives a grant, Schweitzer said the city is still committed to the shelters replacements, which are currently over 30 years old…
