Augusta Eats: Restaurant goes from a wings joint to a sports bar with a Southern flair

Doc’s Porchside describes itself as “Southern hospitality and fun Southern food.” The description is spot-on.

There are two locations − 3035 Washington Road in Augusta and 5147 Bluegrass Trail in Grovetown. Both originally were part of the Wild Wings Cafe franchise before the local owners decided to switch gears four years ago and convert both franchise sites to their own “sports bars with a Southern flair.” That change worked.

The menu includes plenty of hand-held items and other food and drinks that work well for watching a game or hanging out with friends. And there’s not a table in the restaurant without a nice view of several of the dozens of TVs scattered across the dining room…
