COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A Columbus mother of three is preparing to tighten her budget and skip bill payments to afford groceries after losing access to food stamps during the government shutdown.
Nina Sanchez, a single mother living paycheck to paycheck, said she normally receives over $800 in food stamps but those funds will not be available in November because of the shutdown.
“I have three kids so I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to feed them because this is something we’ve been consistently getting,” Sanchez said. “I’ve really been going day by day just handling it, because there’s nothing I can do.”…
