ST. LOUIS – A Bellefontaine Neighbors man surrendered after shooting and killing another man at a balloon release over the weekend.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened Saturday, Oct. 26, in the 2800 block of Gasconade Street, located in the city’s Dutchtown neighborhood.
Police said Donald G. Jones, 51, attended the balloon release event honoring someone who’d recently died. Jones saw the victim outside at the event and shot him in the street.
