Loveland announces short-term homeless shelter plan

LOVELAND, Colo. (KDVR) — The city of Loveland has announced a new short-term plan to shelter those experiencing homelessness. This comes three weeks after people were camping outside of city hall.

Dozens were gathered outside the Loveland Resource Center on Tuesday. The city is now extending a temporary permit for the short-term shelter through March 15.

Inside, the city says, there is room to shelter 22 people overnight based on fire code limits. Inside shelter is prioritized for women and individuals with physical disabilities. Outside, there is room for around 20 tents behind the facility and the city says people will need to use their own tents.
