WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A homicide investigation is underway in the District after a man died days after he was found shot in Columbia Heights.
D.C. officers responded to the shooting inside an apartment building in the 3200 block of Hiatt Place, Northwest, just minutes before 2 a.m. on Oct. 25. At the scene, police found a man who was “semi-conscious and barely breathing” with gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Medics rushed the man, later identified as 27-year-old Jermaine McGee-Holmes, of Northeast, to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries, where he died on Oct. 27.
