On Tuesday, Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) renamed two buildings after receiving a $2 million donation from Cape Fear Valley Health. The buildings, now called the Cape Fear Valley School of Nursing and the Cape Fear Valley School of Health Sciences, are located on Hull Road at FTCC’s Fayetteville campus. They were previously named the Nursing Education & Simulation Center and the Health Technologies Center. This is the largest single donation in FTCC’s history. Cape Fear Valley Health is now the college’s largest workforce partner.
FTCC President Dr. Mark Sorrells thanked Cape Fear Valley Health for the donation. He said the funds will help improve healthcare education in the Sandhills Region, which has a shortage of healthcare professionals. Dr. Sorrells said the investment will expand healthcare training and help meet the region’s needs.
Cape Fear Valley Health CEO Michael Nagowski said the donation supports the idea that local training builds a strong healthcare workforce.
