KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Knox County deputy injured in a head-on crash while on duty back in July will soon have his foot amputated, according to Blue Line Tennessee.
On July 27 at around 10 p.m., Deputy Matt Kirchner and his probationary officer were responding to reports of a fight in Halls when the cruiser and another car crashed head-on. The driver of the other car, an 18-year-old man, was charged with driving under the influence.
