DALLAS, Ore. (KATU) — Rural Oregon food banks are stretched thin. With federal SNAP funding set to expire on Saturday, demand will rise, and the food supply may not keep up.
“With the increase of the families coming in and the decrease of food coming from the federal government, it kind of clashes with each other. So it’s getting a little crazy out there,” said Edie Nelson, Treasurer at the Dallas Food Bank.
