The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving callers posing as sheriff’s deputies.
Scammers have been leaving voicemails claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office, asking people to return the call about an urgent legal matter. They are reportedly using the name Lt. Jewell and possibly other employee names. Victims are then told they can resolve the supposed legal issue by making a payment over the phone using cash or gift cards.
