LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — On Tuesday, several local businesses in the Warehouse Block came together to celebrate National First Responders Day with a heartfelt show of appreciation — free lunches for the city’s firefighters, EMTs, and police officers.
Five neighborhood favorites — Minton’s, Blue Door Smokehouse, Rolling Oven Pizza, Sav’s Ice Cream, and Ruth Hunt Candy — opened their doors to first responders, inviting anyone with a badge or flashing lights to stop by for a complimentary meal.

The event, organized by Warehouse Block owner Chad T. Walker, aims to thank those who serve on the front lines of Lexington’s emergencies.
“We’ve always had a good relationship with the police, fire, and EMT crews,” Walker said. “They do a very thankless and underappreciated job. Every once in a while, it’s just nice to say, ‘Thanks for what you’re doing.’”…
