Fort Collins is summoning its residents to get involved, delve into civic matters, and quite possibly shape the future of their city. Through an open house, we catered to introduced the ins and outs of volunteering for City boards and commissions. The event is set for 5-7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17, at City Hall, located at 300 Laporte Ave. Here, participants can engage, inquire, and perhaps decide to play a more active role in their community’s progress.
With a total of 22 groups tackling widespread concerns from affordable housing to energy sustainability, people can pick their passion and suggest policy, according to the City of Fort Collins. “Boards and commissions are an incredible way for residents to shape their community and impact their local government,” voiced Davina Lau, the city’s Public Engagement Specialist, as per the City of Fort Collins.
