DTS warns public of unauthorized HOLO Card app seeking private information

HONOLULU (Island News) – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS) is asking the public to stay alert as unauthorized HOLO Card mobile applications are seeking private account information.

According to DTS, an unauthorized mobile application is falsely representing itself as a HOLO Card service. This unverified application is seeking to collect private HOLO Card information and may enable the illegal use of customer’s stored balances.

“The HOLO Card system is a trusted and secure way to pay for transit across Oahu. Unfortunately, this unauthorized app is misleading users and potentially exposing them to scams. We want to remind the public that the only legitimate site for managing HOLO accounts is www.holocard.net. DTS has reported the fraudulent app to Google and is working to have it removed as quickly as possibly,” said Roger Morton, Director of the Department of Transportation Services.

There is currently no official HOLO Card mobile application available on either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store…
