Fort Myers specialty contractor kicks off $22M expansion, renovation

Construction has officially kicked off on the expansion and renovation of a new headquarters facilities for a Fort Myers contracting company.

B&I Contractors held a ceremonial groundbreaking Tuesday on the 94,000-square-foot project at 2701 Prince St. A spokesperson for the company says in an email that the expansion doubles its real estate footprint and triples its manufacturing space. It also allows for about 150 employs to move into a single facility.

B&I is a mechanical, electrical and plumbing specialty contractor founded in 1960. According to its website, it has five facilities, including two in Fort Myers — Prince Street and 5851 Country Lake Drive. The others are in Sarasota, Tampa and Tamarac.
