On October 16, 2025, the Oakland Police Department’s Alcohol Beverage Action Team (ABAT) and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) inspected an unlicensed smoke shop on the 1400 block of Webster Street. The inspection followed reports from local residents. Investigators seized psilocybin mushrooms, cannabis products, flavored tobacco, untaxed tobacco from out of state, two firearms, and over $4,800 in cash.
The business did not have the required licenses or permits. No arrests were made. The case has been referred to the Alameda County District Attorney and Oakland City Attorney for possible criminal and civil charges, including possible eviction.
