KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Salvation Army of Knoxville announced on Tuesday it has launched an emergency food campaign in response to a dramatic rise in food assistance requests.
The “Feed Hope. Share Love.” program comes as food assistance requests have reached a level that’s about three to five times higher than normal in recent weeks, according to Salvation Army officials.
This comes after the Trump administration posted a notice saying no federal food aid will go out on Saturday, Nov. 1 as the government shutdown continues…
