ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- Community members joined mental health advocates with Tudor House in celebration of the organization’s new space at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke.
The open house event was held on Wednesday, October 29, in partnership with the Roanoke Regional Chamber.
Tudor House, was named after Louis Tudor, who was once the owner of Tudor’s Biscuit World in downtown Roanoke. The restaurant closed in 2021 after 27 years in business. According to Tudor House, Louis was a volunteer swim coach and dedicated husband who began struggling with his mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. He took his own life on July 1, 2020. Tudor House offers programs on suicide prevention, mental health education, and support, free of charge for individuals and families in the Roanoke Valley region.
