SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — DeWitt police are asking the public for any information on a man who tried to steal a store’s cash register.
Surveillance camera video from the Kinney Drugs on Nottingham Road show a man grab a cash register from the counter, runs toward the exit and straight into the automatic sliding doors before they can open, trips to the ground as a flu shot sign tips onto him, gets up and runs out into the parking lot where he drops the register, trips yet again, and flees before someone could tackle him.
Employees were able to save the cash register as the man ran toward Syracuse University. The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt, a black balaclava, blue jeans, and big red sneakers. Police described him as a light-skinned black man.
The incident happened on Saturday, Oct. 25, at about 1:50 p.m. The DeWitt Police Department wants anyone with info to call them at (315) 449-3460…
