Raising Cane’s And City Of Denton Debut 1,910-Pound Jack-O’-Lantern Just In Time for Halloween

Everything’s bigger in Texas — and this Halloween, that includes pumpkins. Raising Cane’s is teaming up with the city of Denton to debut a 1,910-pound jack-o’-lantern in the heart of downtown, transforming the Halloween Capital of Texas into a fall spectacle for families and fans alike.

A Giant Halloween Debut In Downtown Denton

The massive gourd, which was grown and weighed in Bloomfield, Iowa, will be on public display at 110 W. Hickory St. starting Oct. 29 through Nov. 3. After taking home first place in Iowa, the pumpkin made its way to Texas, where it was carved into a one-of-a-kind Halloween masterpiece.

The display marks the first collaboration between Raising Cane’s and the city of Denton, offering North Texans a rare chance to see a record-winning pumpkin up close — and take a few photos while they’re at it.

Following Last Year’s “World’s Largest” Display

The new display follows last year’s headline-making 2,471-pound behemoth, which was unveiled in Los Angeles. That pumpkin, affectionately named Rudy, was grown in Minnesota by champion grower Travis Gienger and earned him his fourth national title at the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in California, according to Farm Progress.

After the championship, Todd Graves, founder and owner of Raising Cane’s, purchased Rudy and enlisted a team of Food Network carving champions to transform it into a massive Halloween sculpture made from gourds, squash and other natural elements…
