This fall, kindergarten students at Maxey Elementary School in Lincoln, Nebraska, received 24 new Strider balance-to-pedal bikes. The donation came from a partnership between Lincoln Public Schools, TAB Performance, and the All Kids Bike organization. The bikes were introduced during an event in the school gym, where students saw and used them for the first time. Children took turns riding the bikes and learning basic bike safety and balance.
The donation is part of the All Kids Bike program, which aims to teach bicycling skills to kindergarteners across the United States. More than 1,700 schools in all 50 states use the program, reaching over 160,000 students each year. At Maxey, the bikes will be used in physical education classes. Teacher Devin Kosmicki said learning to ride a bike is an important skill and can help build healthy habits.
