Officers responded to Joliet West High School on October 27, 2025, at 7:06 a.m., after the Joliet Police Detective assigned to the school learned of a
disturbance in the cafeteria. Officers and school officials found multiple students involved in a physical altercation. School security and the Detective intervened to separate the students. They were eventually able to end the disturbance. As many as 10 students may have been involved.
It is believed both students and security guards sustained minor injuries as a result of the fight and intervention. Two padlocks contained inside socks were recovered from the scene however it is not believed that they were used during the incident…
