GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a late-night shooting and vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday, October 28, at the Majestic Oaks Apartments, located at 5800 SW 20th Avenue in Gainesville.
Deputies were called to the complex around midnight for reports of an armed disturbance. While responding, deputies learned that a vehicle had crashed into one of the apartment buildings, causing significant structural damage.
When deputies arrived, they encountered a large crowd still engaged in a verbal disturbance. Several witnesses reported hearing gunshots and said they believed someone had been shot but left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
