Two children injured after being struck by van in Michigan

MICHIGAN — Two young boys were hospitalized Thursday morning after being struck by a van that failed to stop for a crossing guard, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the crash happened on S. Division Street near Church Street as a 12-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were crossing the road. Both children were taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Officials said the 12-year-old has since been released, while the 6-year-old remains hospitalized in stable condition…
