Boy in wheelchair harassed at bus stop by angry drivers: ‘It erodes his self confidence’

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster County family is sharing their experience dealing with daily harassment, all because it takes their son a few extra minutes to get on and off the school bus due to his difference in abilities.

For Sirus Miklos, going to school is an exciting part of his day. Miklos’ parents say he loves his friends, his teachers, and being at school. Not only because it makes him happy, but because it gives his family a sense of comfort knowing their child goes to a place where he is cared for.

Sirus is seven-years-old. After his first birthday, he was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, a rare neuromuscular disorder that is usually diagnosed in infancy. He uses and wheelchair, and because of that, he takes a school bus that is specifically designed to transport children with disabilities…
