LMPD adds largest recruit class in six years

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department has welcomed 42 new recruits this week, marking the largest class since 2019.

“We look forward to the contributions these recruits will make as they prepare to take the oath and join hundreds of other dedicated officers in our department,” said LMPD Chief Paul L. Humphrey.

As they begin their journey to protecting and serving the community, 41 of the recruits will join the ranks of LMPD, and one will serve in Metro Arson, a division of Louisville Fire and Rescue…
