MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County Jail inmate was found dead in his cell Wednesday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said around 11:30 p.m., at 201 Poplar, Dalton Goddard, 24, was found unresponsive in his cell.
SCSO said the Memphis Fire Department was notified, and the inmate was pronounced dead on the scene.
