Wake County’s Solid Waste Management Division will hold a free screening of the documentary ‘Refabricate’ at Marbles Kids Museum on November 18, 2025, at 6 p.m. The event is intended to inform the public about the environmental effects of clothing disposal. Each year, about 257 tons of clothing are dropped off at local convenience centers. Commissioner Safiyah Jackson said sustainability should be considered as fast-fashion trends increase.
‘Refabricate’ is a short film about sustainable fashion in the Triangle area. It includes interviews with researchers, entrepreneurs, and designers. The screening will be in the Zanzibar A room. A panel discussion will follow, featuring the filmmakers, Solid Waste Management staff, and people interviewed in the film. Doors open…..
