2 Montgomery County deputies sickened by letter laced with fentanyl, constable says

NEW CANEY, Texas (KIAH) — Two Montgomery County deputies were allegedly poisoned by a letter laced with fentanyl, officials said.

On Tuesday afternoon, two Montgomery County Precinct 4 constables responded to a call at the RB Tullis Library in New Caney. They encountered a woman in the parking lot and handed them a flyer, which deputies said was damp and had a pink tint to it.

About a half-hour later, the deputies began feeling ill with symptoms of shaky hands, dizziness and hot flashes. They then took the flyer for analysis, which was tested positively for fentanyl.
