Boise Unveils Upgrades to Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial for Improved Access and Safety

On October 29, 2025, city officials and community partners marked the completion of upgrades at the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial in Boise. The memorial, located on 8th Street along the Boise River Greenbelt, now has improved pathways and updated security features. These changes aim to make the site more accessible and secure.

The project was a joint effort by the City of Boise, the Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC), the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, and other local groups. Mayor Lauren McLean spoke about the memorial’s importance to Boise and the Treasure Valley. She thanked the partners and highlighted the city’s focus on inclusivity and safety.

The upgrades cost about $3 million. They include wider walkways that connect the memorial to the 8th Street corridor and the Greenbelt, as well as new security cameras and lighting. The site now has new kiosks and a map with educational information.
