BALLSTON SPA — The pilot was killed and a passenger seriously injured when a small plane crashed in the yard of a home next to the Saratoga County Airport, officials said.
Sheriff Michael Zurlo said the crash occurred at 10:27 a.m. as the craft was taking off from the airport’s runway. The single-engine plane hit a tree and came down next to homes on Wyndham Way.
