On October 16, 2025, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office led Operation Alliance Shield. The operation involved local police departments and the FBI. The goal was to reduce crime, increase law enforcement presence, and improve cooperation in northern and eastern Jefferson County. Sheriff Mark Pettway thanked the agencies involved and highlighted the focus on community safety.
The operation led to 53 arrests, 181 community contacts, and 207 citations. Authorities set up 27 traffic checkpoints, verified 79 sex offenders, and checked 16 businesses. They seized six firearms, executed one search warrant, and confiscated methamphetamine, marijuana, fentanyl, and cocaine.
