CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A family in East Lake safely escaped their home after it caught fire Friday morning.
Fire crews responded at about 8:30 a.m. to the 1900 block of E. 32nd Street after getting reports that a house was on fire with people still inside.
A second alarm was called to bring additional firefighters to the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find the front half of the home fully engulfed in flames.
They entered the house to search for occupants but had to pull back for safety until a steady water supply was established. They then returned and confirmed that all residents had made it out safely.
One resident experienced possible smoke inhalation but was not taken to the hospital. No one else was hurt…
