McDonald’s is changing up its cash policy

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Fans of McDonald’s who also use cash to pay for things should note that change is afoot.

Due to the U.S. Treasury halting production of pennies, some McDonald’s locations are now rounding cash change to the nearest 5 cents.

Trade pennies for gift cards at Giant Eagle this weekend

The policy was brought to the attention of many when a Reddit user recently posted a photo of a sign explaining how rounding works at a Chicago-area McDonald’s.
