MADERA COUNTY, Calif. – California High-Speed Rail Authority completed the Avenue 17 Grade Separation project in Madera County.
The Authority says this is the eight structure to be opened this year to date. The grade separation was previously a cul-de-sac that ended at BNSF tracks, according to the release. Previously, Avenue 88 grade separation project was completed in September. The Avenue 17 separation now allows for better access for emergency vehicles in the area. The grade separation measures 614 feet long and more than 43 feet wide and is located at Lake Street and Raymond Road.
Construction on the project began in June 2023. Crews constructed the separation with 21 pre-cast concrete girders, 8,190 cubic yards of concrete, and 1,846,374 pounds of steel. The project was overseen by Tutor-Perini/Zachry/Parsons…
