East Lansing Police Share Halloween Safety Tips for Local Trick-or-Treaters and Drivers

The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) has released safety guidelines for trick-or-treaters and drivers ahead of Halloween on Friday, October 31, 2025. Trick-or-treating in East Lansing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunset is at 6:32 p.m., so much of the event will be after dark. Parents are advised to give children reflective gear or flashlights. All pedestrians are encouraged to use crosswalks and pay attention when crossing streets.

Drivers are asked to slow down in residential areas and watch for children, especially in neighborhoods, places without sidewalks, and at blind spots.
