A roommate was arrested after a 911 hangup call was placed from an apartment complex in Lady Lake.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s dispatch center received the call at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday from the Oakleaf Apartments on County Road 466. When law enforcement dialed back the number from which the call had been received, 39-year-old Brandon Chaplin answered the phone and claimed the 911 call had been “accidental,” according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Officers went to the apartment and spoke to Chaplin’s roommate, who said he and Chaplin “had been drinking all day.” They also had been arguing.
Chaplin’s brother and sister-in-law had been at the apartment and the roommate was speaking to them on the patio. The roommate confided to them that “the roommate relationship was not going well.” He asked for help in removing Chaplin from the apartment and finding him a place to live…
