AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – According to 47th District Attorney Jason Herring, one man was found guilty Thursday and sentenced to life in prison after an October 2022 shooting that killed one person and injured two others in the 1900 block of NW 18th.
As noted in previous reports, Bol Marko Deng was indicted in August on one count of “Capital Murder by Terror Threat or Other Felony.” In January 2023, he had also been indicted on one count of alleged “Murder” and two counts of alleged “Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon,” connected to the same incident.

Deng was accused of those charges after an Oct. 29, 2022, shooting at a home in the 1900 block of NW 18th. One man, Lawrence Hart, was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other people were hospitalized with their injuries after the shooting.
Deng’s trial began Monday morning for the “Capital Murder by Terror Threat or Other Felony” charge. Herring said Deng was found guilty by the jury for that charge on Thursday and sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole…
