Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux extends hospital stay for pneumonia treatment

Mayor Tom Arceneaux will remain hospitalized for a few more days so he can undergo a full course treatment of intravenous antibiotics for his pneumonia.

Arceneaux was admitted to the hospital Tuesday for pneumonia, his illness causing him to leave a city council meeting early to be taken by ambulance to Willis Knighton hospital. Though he originally expected to be leave Thursday, doctors have extended his stay likely through the weekend, according to a news release.

“I’m doing very well and am grateful for the excellent care I’ve received,” Arceneaux said in a news release. “My doctors have instructed me to rest and SB.mayorupdate.103025 to complete the full course of IV antibiotics, and I’m listening. In the meantime, I’m staying involved in city business and look forward to getting back to the office soon.”…
