28-year-old man hit, killed by Amtrak train in Albany

ALBANY, Ore. (KPTV) – A man walking his dog was hit and killed by an Amtrak train late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Albany Police Department.

The incident happened at about 4:16 p.m. near the Queen Avenue crossing.

Police said witnesses reported a man and his dog had gone under the lowered crossing arms and around a freight train that was stopped on the adjacent track. A southbound Amtrak train on a separate track then hit the man as he tried to cross…
