Case involving Devon Reese and local blogger on hold after request to disqualify judge

A sprawling legal case involving a Reno mayoral candidate is on hold after accusations of bias were made against the judge.

It involves a blogger accused of being a stalker, a podcaster accused by a judge of being a vexatious litigant and a Reno law firm as one of the parties being sued.

The central lawsuit involves four main people:

  • Michael Leonard, retired tech worker and creator of the blog Mike’s Reno Report
  • Alex Velto, attorney and 2024 Assembly candidate
  • Conor McQuivey, host of the Renoites podcast
  • Devon Reese, Reno city councilman, 2026 mayoral candidate and Velto’s law firm partner
