Councilman continues to push for more action to tackle Baltimore’s open-air drug market

As an animal sedative makes its way into Baltimore’s drug supply, Councilman Mark Conway is continuing to push for change.

“We are seeing the drug supply change,” Conway said. “It’s getting more complicated. It’s getting more dangerous, and it’s complicating some of the tools that we have today.”

Health officials during a recent meeting said they found the animal sedative called medetomidine in some drug samples that were collected from the most recent mass overdose incident in Baltimore’s Penn North neighborhood…
